What Filmmaking gear do I use?

…And should you use it too?

Cameras.

So, there are a lot of cameras that are perfectly capable for most applications. I personally use the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K for its incredible value and the pro features it offers. However, if you are looking for something that is easy to use - just point and shoot and get a great image- this is definitely not the camera for you.

If you are looking for a great, all manual set-up, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K paired with the Rokinon Cine leses (24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm) is a great option.

Audio.

I use the TASCAM DR-60DmkII as my main audio recorder. It’s small and has all of the features and inputs that I typically need. I normally run a Rode NTG-2 as my boom mic and the Rode Wireless Pro as my preferred lavs.

Lighting.

My light of choice is the Amaran 200x. Pair it with any C-Stand and any bowens mount accessories, and have yourself a merry Christmas.
